ESTIMATING FOR ROOFING CONTRACTORS 
This course is relevant for delegates working within the pitched, flat and sheeting roofing industry.
This is an estimating course designed to provide people working within construction with the skills needed to successfully carry out estimating work from first site visit through to producing an invoice for a client.
 
The course is aimed at new and aspiring estimators who wish to improve their basic knowledge and roofing estimating skills. It will also be suitable for surveyors, supervisors & managers that wish to expand their knowledge base.

  • Registration and introductions
  • Terminology Roof Design
  • How to use a scale rule Measuring simple shapes
  • Measuring complex shapes
  • How  to  draw  a  sketch  for  reference How to measure the length of a valley/hip How to measure in an orderly manner
  • Making a quantity list
  • Materials list for  ordering/pricing
  • Identifying type & size of slate/tile to be used
  • Accessories - ridge, felt support trays, hips, eaves vents
  • Allowing percentage for breakages Allowing percentage for wastage
  • Adding slate  &  half Adding fittings/accessories
  • Overheads & Labour Rates
  • Question and Answer session and summary
COST:  £425 + VAT per delegate

Reductions can be made for larger group bookings.  All courses are run subject to sufficient numbers.
 
The course is delivered by Alan Lander, Rooftrain who has over 50 years of roofing experience.  He has also been teaching apprenticeships and assessing for NVQ for the CITB for the last 20 years.
