FOR EMPLOYERSTRAINING GRANTS
The South West Roofing Training Group is dedicated to providing quality, tailored, training and qualifications for its members. Training is also available to non-members, either roofers or non-roofers, because we believe that quality training and safety advice should be available to everyone who needs it.
We can generally provide a choice of open and private training courses, depending on the needs of our members. We have the use of our dedicated training centres in Exeter and Melksham for all types of courses. Training can range from apprenticeships, NVQs, asbestos, lead, working at heights to IPAF, PASMA and much more. Whatever training you need, get in contact to see what we can do for you.
Open courses - held periodically around the region as and when sufficient interest has been identified to make a course viable. These courses are open to everyone.
Private courses - if training is required for five or more persons then a private course is usually more cost effective. Private courses can generally be held at any suitable location or venue to suit the customers’ needs.
Both options can be discussed with the Group Training Officer.
All prices exclude VAT and do not include membership discount,
Reductions can be made for larger group bookings. All courses are run subject to sufficient numbers.
What has changed since April 2109?
This year, we have been successful in our bid for additional money and have been awarded £59k to provide free and heavily subsidised training for our members until March 2020.
Additional grants are still available from the CITB for certain types of training and as a CITB Approved Training Organisation, we can claim grants direct from the CITB on your behalf. To qualify for the membership discount and CITB grants, employers must be CITB registered.
We also have additional money to subsidise training not included under the new CITB grants system – this includes mental health, bespoke pitched roofing courses, manual handling, lead welding and bossing and management training.
There is also the new CITB Flexible Training Fund of £5k to support member companies in upskilling their workforce. The SWRTG can assist in making an application on your behalf or talk you through the process. (see this under our news section).
Basically, we still offer all the training as before, but with some little changes implemented by the CITB. So please get in contact to see what we can offer!
